Dr. Robert Brownlow
Dr. Robert L. Brownlow Jr. is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmologists and the American Society of Retinal Specialists. He has received numerous honors and citations, and has written many articles and abstracts pertaining to ophthalmology. Dr. Brownlow was honored by his peers with his acceptance into Best Doctors in America® from 2009 through 2013. Dr. Brownlow earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry/business at High Point College, High Point, North Carolina. He received his doctor of medicine degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. Following medical school, Dr. Brownlow completed an internship in the Department of General Surgery at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. For three years, he served his residency in the hospital’s Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Brownlow was fellowship-trained in vitreoretinal surgery at Cornell University Medical Center in New York. His wealth of experience includes private practice in ophthalmology in Williamsburg, Virginia; Roanoke, Virginia; and Wilmington, North Carolina.
